Project Overview:



The Bloor-Yonge Capacity Improvements Project is a significant undertaking by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to expand and modernize Bloor-Yonge Station--Canada's busiest subway hub. This initiative is focused on meeting both current and future ridership needs by improving the station's efficiency, capacity, and accessibility.



The Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture (KMJV) is committed to transforming the station to enable faster, more reliable, and more comfortable travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area. The project will deliver upgraded facilities, contributing to a safer, cleaner, and higher-capacity subway system for passengers.

IT Support Specialist:



The IT Support Specialist is the first point of contact for technical support. This role provides support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, assists with user onboarding, and helps maintain the reliability and security of IT systems. The position requires strong communication skills, a customer service mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic IT environment.

How will you contribute to the team?:





To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:


Infrastructure & Office Setup

:


Support the deployment and maintenance of infrastructure under supervision. Assist with hardware procurement and installation in coordination with vendors and internal teams.



User Support & Onboarding

:


Provide support for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues. Assist with user onboarding, including account setup, email access, and IT usage policies. Create and maintain onboarding documentation and guides for end users. Maintain helpdesk ticketing workflows and user support channels


Cloud & Application Administration

:


Support Cloud Infrastructure and user management. Maintain documentation for system configurations and access protocols. Coordinate with the vendor to set up and maintain the backup system.



Cybersecurity & Compliance

:


Participate in security awareness training and support the implementation of basic cybersecurity protocols. Report suspicious activity and assist with endpoint protection monitoring.



Coordination & Communication

:


Act as the IT point of contact between partners, and external vendors. Support project planning and execution for new system rollouts and IT initiatives. Maintain helpdesk ticketing workflows and user support channels



Education and Experience:


Diploma or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 1-2 years in IT support or helpdesk roles; experience in construction or multi-tenant environments is an asset. Good communication & organizational skills. Strong knowledge of firewall technologies, Wi-Fi systems, and Microsoft 365. Experience with Microsoft Azure, Autopilot, Intune Management will be an asset Certification in MS-102 (Microsoft 365 administrator certification) or MD-102 (Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator Associate) will be an advantage Familiarity with ITIL practices and cybersecurity frameworks. Excellent communication and coordination skills.



Working Conditions:


Office and Project site based May require after-hours support during system rollouts or incidents.
