Position Summary
The IT Systems Administrator / IT Support Specialist will work closely with and alongside the Director of Technology to support, maintain, and enhance IT infrastructure across multiple locations. This role is hands-on and diverse, involving systems administration, end-user support, and exposure to specialized healthcare technologies. Occasional travel between sites in PEI and New Brunswick is required.
Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain Windows Server environments, including Hyper-V and Remote Desktop Services
Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint security solutions
Configure and support firewalls, managed switches, and Wi-Fi systems
Provide Tier 1-2 help desk support using a ticketing system
Assist with administration of phone systems (cloud-based, POTS, and on-site PBX)
Support Nurse Call systems and other healthcare-related enterprise applications
Maintain and troubleshoot camera systems and NVRs
Work with antivirus, backup, and security tools to ensure system reliability and compliance
Collaborate with coworkers and stakeholders to resolve technical issues efficiently
Document systems, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
Learn and adapt to new technologies as required by the organization
Required Experience & Skills
Experience with Windows Server environments
Familiarity with Hyper-V and Remote Desktop Services
Knowledge of firewalls, managed switches, and Wi-Fi systems
Experience with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to work effectively with coworkers and end users
Willingness and ability to learn new systems and technologies
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between PEI and NB as required
Assets / Nice-to-Have Experience
Experience with Nurse Call systems
Familiarity with Google Workspace
Knowledge of cloud and on-prem phone systems
Experience supporting specialized enterprise or healthcare applications
Experience with camera systems and NVRs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
