Position Overview
We're seeking
IT Support Specialist
to join our dynamic technology team in Aurora.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be the go-to expert for end-user support, network troubleshooting, system maintenance, and technology optimization. You'll ensure that our IT infrastructure runs smoothly and securely, empowering our employees to focus on what they do best -- building the future of communications technology.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support to local and remote users (hardware, software, and network troubleshooting).
Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
Manage user accounts, access controls, and security permissions within Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
Support and monitor internal networks, including LAN/WAN, VPN, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Maintain and update IT asset inventory and documentation.
Troubleshoot issues related to Windows OS, Office 365, and various enterprise applications.
Collaborate with vendors to support IT hardware, software, and telecommunications systems.
Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, including patch management and endpoint protection.
Support IT infrastructure projects -- such as system upgrades, migrations, and rollouts.
Provide exceptional service to employees by resolving issues efficiently and communicating clearly.
Qualifications
College diploma or university degree in
Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
.
2-4 years of experience in an
IT Support / Help Desk / Systems Administration
role.
Strong knowledge of
Windows 10/11, Office 365, Active Directory, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
.
Experience with
hardware diagnostics, imaging, and device management tools
.
Understanding of
cybersecurity best practices
and data protection principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
Experience with
Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, or cloud-based infrastructure
.
Knowledge of
Linux, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
, or backup solutions.
Familiarity with
ITIL processes
or
ticketing systems
(e.g., Jira, Freshservice, ServiceNow).
