POSITION: IT Support Assistant ? Volunteer
PROGRAM: Information and Communications Technology
REPORTS TO: Technical Support Analyst
WORK HOURS: 18 hours/week (flexible) DBNC is an accredited, non-profit organization providing support services to residents of Mississauga including newcomers to Canada, youth, seniors, and families. JOB SUMMARY: The Volunteer IT Support Assistant is responsible for assisting in IT services and support operations across the organization. This position is also responsible for assisting in strategic and tactical planning, as well as identifying, selecting, and deploying the appropriate technology resources that will support the agency?s goals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in supporting all IT services and programs, throughout the organization.
  • Provide internal IT support (software updates, hardware maintenance, deletion, and other requests).
  • Responsible for IT implementation for all employees from setting up Microsoft 365, solving login issues, and delivering service requests.
  • Ensure that applicable project management practices are followed throughout project lifecycles.
  • Conduct training for employees on the use of Microsoft 365, online security measures, and safety precautions for email use.
  • Create status reports as required, present findings to the Technical Support Analyst
  • Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Basic knowledge of networking, operating system, and online collaboration tools of communication platforms
  • knowledge of Web design principles and tools
  • Experience in navigating and teaching Microsoft software to groups
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 and its application.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Consistently available in Afternoons.
  • Affective communication, teamwork, and presentation skills
  • Flexible with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Interest in being a part of a dynamic non-profit IT department
  • Mandatory police check - completed within the last six months
