Corporate Services (CS) provides support and services to the Library of Parliament in the
areas of human resources, finance, materiel management, corporate planning, information
technology, and publishing, editing and creative services.
We are currently looking for candidates to staff the following position: IT Services
Specialist.
The IT Services Specialist responsible for delivering professional tier one and tier two
information technology (IT) services (e.g., technical support for personal computers,
operating systems, applications, data communications, hardware/software,
telecommunications and connectivity), providing technical support services to clients
across the Library of Parliament and the Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer,
and ensuring internal control mechanisms (processes, support documentation, inventory,
service request portal) are followed and up to date.

NOTE:
While this position is eligible for part-time telework, regular on-site presence is required at Library of Parliament
workplaces located in the National Capital Region.

LIBRARY OF PARLIAMENT
For the purposes of this selection process, the competencies listed in the attached
Competency Profile will be evaluated.
The following knowledge criteria will also be evaluated:
  • Knowledge of theories, methods and principles of computer science and delivery of IT
services
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service
management principles and best practices such as incident management, request
management, asset management and knowledge management
To be considered, candidates must have:
  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in computer science, information
technology or information management OR an acceptable combination of relevant
education, training and/or experience
  • Experience with desktop computer hardware configurations
  • Experience with desktop software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
Asset(s):
  • ITIL certification
  • Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or A+ Certification
