THE ROLE



As a Cyber Security Officer, you ensure that the organization's information systems are protected. You perform vulnerability assessments, ongoing information risk assessments and audits, and monitor the network to detect security irregularities. You oversee and measure information security practices across technologies and processes, and design robust security solutions.



You also play a key role in

artificial intelligence security governance

, ensuring that AI systems are deployed securely, ethically, and in alignment with organizational policies. You assess AI-related risks, contribute to the development of AI governance frameworks, and collaborate with stakeholders to embed responsible AI practices into business operations.



The Cyber Security Officer improves information security through awareness programs, policies, guidelines, and standards, as well as through the ongoing integration of security within business strategies. You recommend and implement network security measures, and continuously enhance the security infrastructure--including those supporting AI and machine learning environments.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses




College diploma or certificate in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering or a related field AND several years of experience in IT security or a related field



Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent certification, an asset


Experience




Three or more years of experience in Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence



In installations and implementation of security solutions across various computing platforms and network infrastructure



In the management of both physical and logical information security systems



In vulnerability assessment, security audits, TCP/IP, intrusion detection systems, and firewalls



In technical documentation



In weighing business risks and suggesting appropriate information security measures



In writing IT security policies



In personnel administration



In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing


Competencies, Skills and Abilities





Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

English or French Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset

OTHER INFORMATION



This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.



This is a temporary position with an anticipated start date of 01 December 2025, and end date of 30 November 2026.



You may be eligible to receive a Scarce Skills Premium for this position as outlined in the attached IT Scarce Skills Compensation Agreement.
