Steps away from the main public transit stationWhat we offer:Highly competitive compensation package which includes base salary, bonus, benefits, and career advancement opportunities!*Eligibility for benefits is dependent on the terms of employmentThe Opportunity:The IT QA Analyst II will report directly to the Assistant Manager or Manager, IT Quality Assurance. The QA Analyst II role is responsible for testing software applications and products that are developed in house by the IT department at First National. Working on an agile Scrum Team, the QA Analyst, is responsible for manually testing software applications and products used by all departments at First National, which includes but not limited to: Underwriting software, documents websites/mobile applications. The successful candidate will be tasked to develop, implement, and document all testing activities including test case creation, test execution, bug tracking and reporting.How you will contribute:

  • Work on an agile scrum team using Microsoft Azure DevOps to review requirements and track work.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans, test suites in Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Identify, document and track bugs thoroughly throughout the testing life cycle.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers, QA Analysts, and Business Analysts) to work through business and system requirements, for test planning purposes.
  • Participate in system updates and project releases.
  • Support development teams with production issue fixes
  • Complete other duties as assigned by their manager.
Skills and Attributes:Excellent communication, analytical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills.Ability to self-motivate, prioritize, and meet deadlines.Ability to think independently, problem solve and grasp new concepts quickly.Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)The experience you need:
  • Completed post-secondary education in a related field and has 3 to 5+ years of experience in software development testing.
  • Certifications - CTFL (Certified Tester Foundation Level) by ISTQB or equivalent (CSTE or CSQA) required
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles and best practices
  • Understanding of agile practices and the Scrum framework.
  • Experiencing using Microsoft Azure DevOps or Teams Foundation Server (TFS) an asset.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with First National systems and practices an asset (internal candidates only)
Working Environment and Physical Demands Analysis:
  • Office environment
  • Periods of high volume with tight timelines
  • Long periods of stationary position/sitting
  • Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)
  • Long periods of time in viewing a computer screen
  • Multi-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer program.
