Job Description


Our client, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada, has an immediate need for an IT Network & Security Tools Support. This is a contract position for one (1) year located in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Description

The IT Network & Security Tools Support monitors and maintains network and security tools in various environments and provides ongoing security guidance to support business operations in achieving organizational objectives.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Monitor and maintain network and security tools in various environments such as ArcSight ESM, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Rugged NMS Alcatel SAM/CPAM, Service Portal Express, and Splunk Enterprise
  • Administer support activities in Cariden Mate Design Collector by managing and troubleshooting user access and metadata security.
  • Collaborate with the business, vendors, and team members to assist in identifying, prioritizing, investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving security events and alerts.
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives related to network and security tools and technologies such as version upgrades and enhancements.
  • Create technical documents involving requirements, designs, as built, and procedures as well as provide NERC administrative documentation support to contribute to the standardization of security processes.
  • Continuously improve the efficiency of network and security environments by identifying opportunities, presenting feasible technical options and recommendations on enhancements
  • Provide ongoing guidance and technical expertise regarding the components, functions, and operations of various network and security environments to users, customers, partner resources.
  • Assist in network architecture designs and electronic access control and monitoring solutions.
  • Perform security patch assessments for Firmware and Windows based devices.
  • Monitor network and security tools in various Operating Systems such as Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Servers, and VMware ESXi.
  • Perform impact assessment for Firmware and Windows based devices when implementing upgrades and patches.
  • Conduct security patch testing and document test results
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement data communications for system Firewall, Ethernet switches and other network hardware.
  • Assist with testing, including creation of test documentation, to ensure that the project requirements are met.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve communication issues between systems.
  • Provide support to field teams for completing cyber-security compliance work activities.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of working experience in IT security supporting multiple environments
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Excellent technical skills in advanced network and systems technologies including firewalls, IPSEC, SNMPv3, Syslog, AAA, and TCP/IP Routing
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, and Access)
  • Excellent communication skills for professional environment, written and spoken.
  • Excellent technical skills in the following areas:
  • ArcSight ESM
  • ConAPP
  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure
  • Cisco IOS, ASA
  • Cariden Mate Design
  • Rugged NMS Alcatel SAM/CPAM
  • Service Portal Express
  • Splunk Enterprise
  • SolarWinds includes NTA, NPM, VoIP and Network Quality Manager modules.
  • SNMP
  • SQL Server Admin
  • Scripting (Perl, Shell)
  • Alcatel 7705, 7750 Router Configuration
  • LDAP
  • Microsoft Active Directory
