Overview

We are seeking a Junior IT Network Administrator for an onsite 6-month contract to support and optimize our organization's network infrastructure. This role involves managing network hardware, implementing security protocols, and ensuring high availability of network services to support business operations effectively. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with foundational networking knowledge who are eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced, regulated environment. The successful candidate will support network operations across our facilities, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity essential to food production and logistics. The contract will be reviewed upon completion and may be extended based on performance and organizational requirements.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain network systems including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network issues and escalating complex problems. Support hardware and software installations, configurations, maintenance and updates. Maintain documentation of network configurations and procedures. Ensure network security by implementing and updating firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls. Provide technical support to end-users and assist with helpdesk tickets. Collaborate with IT team on infrastructure projects and upgrades.

Skills:

Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Familiarity with Windows operating systems. Knowledge of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls). Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA (preferred but not required). Minimum 1 year of technical support experience. Excellent communication skills. Specifically written. Proficient in MS Office. Resourceful with problem-solving skills. Attention to detail.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $18.50-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
