The Opportunity: The IS Manager, Server and Cloud Operations role is responsible for the day-to-day support and operations of over 1200 mission critical servers across multiple locations. Servers consisting of Windows and RHEL, On-premises and Cloud hosted.The Successful candidate will possess strong management skills with a passion and background in technology, experience in vendor management, SLA management and multi million dollars budget forecasts. They will bring strong communication and problem-solving skills, adaptable to changing technology and willingness to collaborate, lead multiple projects and operational initiatives.This role manages a team of geographically dispersed technical analysts and reports to the Director of Technical Services and Operations.   • Managing and mentoring a team of 10 people (3 FTEs + 6 Offshore + 1 contractor) reports through regular 1 on 1 and team meetings.
  • Evolving the Datacenter, Cloud and Edge Ecosystem by participating in Strategy and owning and executing on the road map through project implementation.
  • Prepare compliance audit reports for Server asset inventory, backups, Disaster Recovery and Datacenter access \xe2\x80\xa6etc.
  • Contributing to Annual Budget and project planning activities
  • Managing and monitoring a Ticket queue with an emphasis of Ticket resolution and Problem Ticket Management
  • Ownership of Annual lifecycle and migration processes - Creating and supporting Capital, Maintaining and Refreshing Hardware standards, execution of Hardware refresh
  • Ownership, Support and Maintain Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, RDS, PKI, ADFS and Azure Services (IaaS and PaaS).
  • Ownership, Support and management of VMware, Windows Servers, and Linux RHEL
  • Ownership, Support, and management of Server Hardware across all sites (Hyperconverged and traditional Server, Storage and NAS file share).
  • Identifying and building recommended process improvements
  • Version Control and Patch Management activities for Server Operating Systems.
  • Maintaining Management tools such as Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager, SCOM Monitoring and BMC Asset Discovery.
  • Create and deliver presentation on technology in your area as needed (Roadmap, Projects, Execution etc.)
  • Participate in RFPs, CSMs and building of solutions\' design architecture.
  • Travel to Datacenter in Markham and Remote sites across North America when required (expected travel is less than 25%).
  • Lead and participate in our monthly maintenance window (weekend).
  • Flexibility supporting the team\'s activities afterhours when required.
What You\'ll Bring:
  • 10+ years technical experience in Managing senior technical team members in enterprise environments with proper change and release management structure and security controls.
  • Proven track record for delivering successful projects, managing complex environments, managing diverse teams, maintaining SLAs, and improving KPIs.
  • Proven track record of reducing cost, efficiently managing large Capital and Operational budgets.
  • Industry or product specific Certifications (such as ITIL, MBA, PMP, Microsoft, AWS, SAP, TOGAF\xe2\x80\xa6etc.)
  • A Self-starter who is driven and possesses strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent Communication skills (Written and verbal) and ability to communicate to various levels of the organization.
  • > 5 years\' experience in a in a Technical Lead managing large scale projects and deployments.
  • Experience with managing and supporting Microsoft server-based, Azure and O365 technologies.
  • Experience with VMware, Linux, Windows, Datacentre, SAN, Hyperconverged and blade systems.
  • Experience managing backups and disaster recovery.
  • Experience of owning and participating in budget processes.
  • Experience in creation of Business Case proposals for new items.
  • Experience managing vendors, RFPs, and Cloud Operations/FinOps.
  • Comfort in collaborating and engaging with multiple teams and process owners.
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong customer service focus and attention to detail
  • Desire to take on big challenges and the ability to see the big picture as well as the details.
  • Ability to react with appropriate urgency to situations and requests.
  • Ability to travel, Plant visits, meeting with staff or vendors, attending conferences.
  • Post-secondary degree in computer technology, user experience, business management or other relevant programs or experiences.
