Key Responsibilities
Provide
IT maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support
for hardware and software systems
Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications as required
Provide
virtual support
for web-based platforms, online tools, and virtual program delivery
Assist with video conferencing platforms, webinars, and online sessions
Support the
download, installation, configuration, and maintenance
of:
Anti-virus and malware protection software
Anti-phishing and email security tools
Firewall and basic network security protections
Provide guidance on
potential vulnerabilities
in virtual systems related to:
Storage, access, and sharing of
client and participant data
User permissions and password practices
Use of cloud-based tools and remote access
Support secure data practices, including backups and basic access controls
Ensure IT practices follow
confidentiality, privacy, and risk-mitigation principles
commonly required for IRCC-funded and nonprofit programs
Provide timely, as-needed technical assistance and clear documentation when required
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree
in Computer Science or Technology
Thorough knowledge of Operating Systems and Web Technologies
Experience in
IT support, maintenance, or systems administration
Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and common software
Familiarity with
virtual platforms, cloud-based tools, and basic cybersecurity practices
Ability to identify risks and recommend
practical, low-cost security improvements
Strong communication skills, particularly when explaining technical issues to non-technical staff
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with
nonprofit or publicly funded organizations
Familiarity with
data privacy, confidentiality, and client-information safeguards
Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or similar platforms
Knowledge of basic cybersecurity tools (anti-virus, anti-phishing, firewall solutions)
Contract Details
Annual contract of approximately
18 total hours
Compensation at
$35/hour
