What would I do?

As an IT Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you would work as a team member across multiple IT Infrastructure disciplines including IT Helpdesk, Server, Network, and Security teams. Some of your essential functions would include:

  • Review incoming IT Infrastructure (Servers, Network, Security) work requests via IT Service Center, email, escalations from the IT Helpdesk.
  • Resolve standard work requests as documented in the IT Infrastructure Knowledge Base.
  • Escalate non-standard or non-documented standard work requests to team members for review and documentation.
  • Raise recurring work requests to IT Infrastructure team leads for review as an ongoing problem.
  • Escalation point from the IT Helpdesk including:
    • Communications liaison between IT Helpdesk and Infrastructure teams.
  • System Administrator duties.
    • Learn and document standard practices around varying purpose focused systems.
    • Work with system stakeholders on roadmaps for maintenance, new features, and rollouts.
    • Primary point of contact for escalated discussion of the focused systems.
    • Train the rest of the Operations and Infrastructure teams on processes for these systems.
  • Rotating on-call schedule for a week at a time to support IT Helpdesk escalations and work stoppage issues.

Where would I work?
Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from our Burlington, Ontario office or remotely from a home office in the greater Burlington area. Exact working hours are flexible, but this position will be based on working during regular business hours in the Central time zone.

Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred in Networking or Information Systems, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering Technology, or similar degrees. An associate degree may be considered with applicable work experience. You will also need demonstrated experience in the areas listed below:
  • Proven top-notch customer service and IT (Help Desk, Network, Security, Server) background.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload.
  • Strong organizational skills where you have managed multiple and changing priorities with accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills showing collaboration with others and building effective relationships.
  • Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet all workplace safety requirements, which includes following safety protocols related to COVID-19.
