The Opportunity:
We are currently looking to fill the position of IT Compliance Lead (12 Months Term). Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Cyber Security Risk, you will help build and lead a team to deliver maximum value of our IT compliance services for Nova Scotia Power IT.

As the successful candidate, you will lead a team in the timely delivery of value-added IT compliance services within our information and operational technology environments. This leadership role will be well-suited to an experienced IT/OT leader looking to expand their career by gaining risk and compliance knowledge or an experienced IT/OT audit/risk/compliance professional looking to develop leadership responsibilities in an environment with significant investment in technological innovation.

This role requires an individual with a technical background and/or education, as well as a keen ability to work with the broader organization to deliver, track and monitor compliance programs and remediation activities. As the ideal candidate, you have an ability to build and maintain a high credibility and interact well with all functional groups to ensure compliance activities are understood and actioned appropriately. Essentially, you must be able to work within broad guidelines to achieve compliance objectives whilst working on several complex compliance programs simultaneously. Key elements of this role include::
Accountabilities: You will drive the delivery, tracking and monitoring of compliance objectives by understanding the requirements of the IT compliance programs in scope. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading a team of professionals in the delivery, tracking and monitoring of IT compliance programs.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of controls in managing the organization\xe2\x80\x99s risk exposure. Actively tracking adherence to regulations and internal standards, policies and guidelines.
  • When compliance issues arise, work with the business units to develop a strategy and action plan for internal controls and processes and ensure they are set up for success for remediation activities for compliance deviations.
  • Reporting on the organizational compliance through the development of management reports, dashboards and scorecards.
  • Driving strategical, tactical and compliance review planning, including cyber security metric and reporting development, as well as driving policy and standards implementation success through compliance review.
  • Experience with following is considered an asset:
  • NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) CIP standards
  • Industrial Control System (ICS) or OT (Operations Technology) environments
  • Internal Audit Processes (IT Audit, SoX ITGCs, etc.)
