Job Description

Role Purpose



The IT Business Analyst - Projects is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance and improvements of enterprise information systems to effectively and efficiently sustain DP World Canada business IT initiatives. The BA will provide expert analysis on business processes, systems and applications to identify problems and create new solutions. This role works collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to help guide the business in identifying key areas of improvement through sound data analysis and can eventually be assigned to oversee small-size solution design and implementation.


Key Responsibilities



Provide support to internal resources, vendors and service providers in the design, development and implementation of IT systems enhancements or projects with focus on Business Analysis. Liaise between all areas of the business, technology team and external parties (stakeholders, consultants) to accurately gather, analyse and document requests with emphasis on existing systems' enhancements. Conduct work sessions to define and document business processes and understand business objectives of internal clients. Identify, analyze and measure the risks of implementing or modifying business processes supported by IT Systems. Conduct the IT Systems Enhancement Requests (ITERs) intake process and oversee small-size solution design and implementation. Support Project teams and Lead Assignees of ITERs to define an effective Work Plan (scope, requirements, deliverables, effort, cost and timeline estimates). Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop and document standard operating policies and procedures (SOPs) and develop appropriate training programs. Utilize project planning and process design tools such as MS Project, MS Visio, Jira and MS Office applications. Report work progress to internal leads and customers through Status Reports or in Status Meetings.

Knowledge & Qualifications



A degree in business logistics, engineering, computer science, information systems or a related area of study, combined with at least 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Project Coordinator, specifically within the Logistics or IT fields. Considerable experience or knowledge of logistics processes with emphasis on port terminal operations. Working knowledge with Jira and MS Visio. Ability to create work plans and simple project schedules. Proven experience in project environments that utilize Waterfall and Agile project management frameworks. Good knowledge and understanding of computer programming skills and business logistics. Experience in assisting organizations in analysing and implementing organizational design, including business process design, drafting communication, work-group facilitation and realization of divisional business plans. Ability to facilitate small and medium group meetings, training and working sessions. Able to follow priorities and focus on what matters most. Disciplined, concise and clear. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical capabilities, conflict resolution skills, consulting skills and interpersonal skills for building good internal/external working relationships. Sound judgement and ability to handle matters of a confidential/sensitive nature as it relates to transformation. Ability to work effectively as a team member and work collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary team. Fluent in English. * Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries
