Business Analyst

Contract Duration: 3 months

Location: Hybrid, Toronto, on site 2x/week

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will contribute to the overall success of the Data Office in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team\'s business strategies and objectives. Responsibilities:

• Experience working in data management and can provide hands-on support on the implementation according to Data Office playbooks, guidelines, standards, and policies (e.g., documenting initiatives, use cases, data tiering and classification, critical data elements and business data elements)
• Perform any necessary data mapping and data lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements
• Perform data profiling, analyzes and communicate results in support of data quality processes
• Build the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems
• Participate in knowledge transfer within the team, business units and provide recommendation opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
• Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommending actions.
• Work in an Agile mindset to accelerate the delivery of the project
• Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Assess, research, analyze, and document project needs and outcomes by selecting the appropriate information gathering and/or modelling technique to elicit requirements

• 10+ years of experience working on and understanding data concepts (data dictionary, business glossary, data governance) (examples: data schema, data modelling, data lineage) in FI
• 5+ Experience in agile project methodology and artifacts, on software/application development lifecycle in an agile fashion
• 10+ years of experience with business analysis processes, frameworks with documenting processes and data flows
• Cloud platforms and related data services knowledge (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services)
• 3+ years experience working with Collibra (strongly preferred) or Azure

• Excel Macros (example: KPIs, stats)
• JIRA/Confluence
