As an IT Application Services Level 4 analyst in the Connect Care program, you will play an essential role in the transformation of the Connect Care organization goals and objectives serving as a liaison between the software provider - Epic and AHS to ensure that deliverables meet both technical requirements and business needs. The Analyst will have a key responsibility for troubleshooting and providing support to end users, clinicians, and peers, resolving complex technical problems, and ensuring reliable operation of information systems in the Ambulatory Specialties area with a focus on the Phoenix (transplant) application. There is flexibility as to the location of this position within the Province of Alberta.
Description:
The Ambulatory Specialties Senior Analyst requires in-depth knowledge of current AHS clinical systems, superior customer relationship skills, experience leading other IT staff and business clients, and experience developing and maintaining vendor relationships. The Senior Analyst is accountable for leading teams implementing, optimizing and supporting systems used within Ambulatory Specialties. This position reports to the Manager - Ambulatory Specialties, IT Clinical Services, Calgary Zone and works with directors, managers, and other leads to implement, enhance, optimize and support clinical applications used in AHS Ambulatory Specialty Care environments. The Senior Analyst takes responsibility for implementation and support of Ambulatory Specialties and coordinates team members from various IT Teams: Works independently and with teams to ensure reliable implementations of clinical information systems that enable clinical programs to meet their patient care requirements and operational objectives. Leads and coordinates multiple simultaneous implementations of varying size, risk and complexity. Provides best practice recommendations and expert technical knowledge of clinical systems to governance committees. Offers direction and mentorship to Ambulatory Specialties team members. Resolves complex problems independently with minimal guidance, by applying best practices and innovative solutions. Assesses requirements and recommends innovative information technology solutions to meet customers' business needs. Works with managers and other leads to facilitate skill development for all team members, and to ensure appropriate resourcing for application enhancement, optimization and support.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum educational requirement - degree in information technology, information sciences, or related discipline. Strongly prefer graduate of a recognized degree program in information technology, information sciences, or related discipline. Experience supporting clinical or health care applications required, including EMR's and other clinical applications. Connect Care implementation experience required EpicCare Ambulatory Certification/proficiency training required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant IT experience Experience in a healthcare environment Ability to lead other IT and Business staff through complex discussions and negotiate solutions. Must have experience transforming end user functional requirements into a workflow based software implementation. Advanced problem solving skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team to reach project goals Strong customer service and relationship management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills required, including experience creating and delivering presentations and facilitating meetings. Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to influence senior stakeholders, including management, clinicians, physicians, and coworkers. Ability to articulate how technology solutions can enable health care delivery and support strategic decision making Ability to set and meet personal and team deadlines, and to adapt to changes in priority. Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a healthcare environment strongly preferred. Previous experience in a functional leadership, delivery coordinator, or project manager capacity is an asset. Prefer experience in implementing, supporting and upgrading single vendor integrated platforms are an asset. Preference will be given to those with EpicCare Ambulatory and Phoenix certifications. Established relationships with Clinical Stakeholders in the Transplant area as well as with workflows used in Transplant.
