Your Opportunity:

The Dispatch Telephone System Support Specialist will provide technical support for EMS Dispatch, Communications & Deployment telephone, and communications systems for the purpose of supporting the EMS dispatch service/business function. This position will work with other members of the EMS IT team to install, configure, and maintain the VoIP primary telephone system including the interfaces into the provincial 9-1-1 telephony architecture and the voice recording systems for all of the EMS communications centers as well as ANI/ALI functions. In addition, this position will engage other AHS IT teams to support the backup telephone systems including digital phones and PBX systems. This position will be required to provide on-site support on a regular basis. As the successful candidate, you will have the ability to investigate, diagnose and resolve complex problems with responsibilities to maintain uptime for the Dispatch Telephony Systems. This position is responsible for managing relationships with software vendors to coordinate problem resolution. The position translates business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommends a potential approach to the vendor or EMS Leadership. The position works on site at EMS Communications Centers, AHS IT Data Centers and other locations for hardware installation as well as troubleshooting and support of 9-1-1 telephony equipment residing in data centers.

As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Required Qualifications: Completion of bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications: 3-6 years of experience in a multi-discipline IT environment is required. Experience with computer software and databases is required. Experience with VOIP and other telephony technology is required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in public safety is preferred. Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
