Zurich Canada is currently looking for a IT Advisory Solutions Architect to work with other Solution and Enterprise Architects to align on architecture vision. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Architecture, you will partner with Business System Analysts, Product Owners and other stakeholders to translate the functional and non-functional requirements into reusable architecture building blocks.
You will document the required architecture artifacts, present architecture solutions in Architecture Review workshops.

What you will do -
Maintain understanding of the functionality and use of the IT application portfolio for specific vertical lines of business.
Within a program, take direction from more senior program solution Architect or from Enterprise / functional architects in
smaller projects.
Independently perform or execute given solution design assignments capable to implement E2E processes.
Engages with the senior solution architects within his area/project and with the enterprise architect for their specific area of expertise to enable the Group Operations and IT governance process, to provide architectural design approval and ensure that the IT architectural standards and practices are followed throughout the project/program.
Demonstrate knowledge of relevant systems, technologies, products, processes and procedures to be able to provide outstanding solution design services for complex parts of bigger solutions (e.g. sub-systems) or for solutions with high architectural complexity and medium to high business criticality risks, referring the more complex professional queries to the right department/architect.
Utilize the group operations and technology governance process, to provide architectural design approval and ensure that the IT architectural standards and practices are followed through project and program involvement.
Provide consultation for multiple areas of technology to project efforts within various IT areas and/or external service providers.
Identify, in collaboration with the more senior program solution architects or in smaller projects directly with the functional area architects, existing IT software assets for new opportunities (e.g. re-use) through project and program involvement.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT enterprise architecture, standards and practices by maintaining understanding of current and future technology developments.
Provide consultation for broad areas of technology to project efforts within various IT areas and/or external service providers.
Provide formal and informal leadership and direction to other architects.
Design and document solutions required to meet business needs and automate business processes/activities.
Understand and evaluate multiple platforms, software packages, and custom components to design the solution.

Job Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
Required
Bachelor\'s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the IT Architecture area
OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the IT Architecture area.
4+ years of solution architecture experience in building solutions for mid to high complexity initiatives.
3+ years of solid experience with Node.js and React.
Experience in the design, implementation, and usage of REST APIs .
Proven experience in architecting IAM solutions using Okta.
Preferred
Working knowledge of insurance concepts and applications.
Hands on software development experience in full stack with NOSQL backends.
Guidewire Insurance Suite experience.
Additional Azure or AWS cloud experience or certification is a plus.
