The NI SBU Network Management Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an IP Software Automation Solutions Leader. In this role, you will lead and drive our IP Software Automation Solutions team, overseeing multiple teams of developers, testers, support personnel as well as collaborate with other cross functional teams. You will be responsible for software architecture, implementation, and support of NSP (Network Services Platform) based automation solutions, aimed at supporting customer operation and improving the delivery process for customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and collaborative abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of software development processes and methodologies.

What you will learn and contribute to

  • Team Leadership:
  • Effectively lead and manage teams, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, manage and coordinate multiple teams, including developers, testers, and automation experts.
  • Define and communicate clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaboration with R&D:
  • Work closely with the Research and Development (R&D) department to ensure the delivery teams have the necessary tools and features for efficient service delivery.
  • Collaborate with R&D in defining requirements, identifying improvement areas, and implementing new features.
  • Pre-Sales Support and Custom Solutions:
  • Review proposed solutions and provide effort estimates for pre-sales activities to secure new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Professional Services PLM team to define and build standard/industrial solutions to meet customer needs and enable efficient selling and delivery.
  • Apply strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and address complex technical challenges.
  • High-Quality Software Solutions Delivery:
  • Play a critical role in delivering high-quality software solutions to meet customer demands.
  • Collaborate effectively with other teams and stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration and continuous learning.
  • Deliver quality solutions on time and budget.
  • Automation Initiative:
  • Drive automation initiatives within the organization, seeking opportunities to streamline and optimize software delivery processes and solutions.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in software development and automation.
Your skills and experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s/Master\xe2\x80\x99s in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in software development, with a strong track record of delivering quality solutions on time and budget.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in managing software development teams and complex software development/deployment projects, including planning, resource allocation, and project execution.
  • Deep understanding of software development processes, methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.), and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience with IP and Optical Networking Technologies.
  • Proficiency in a variety of software/automation languages and tools including (but not limited to) Python, JavaScript, CICD methodologies, Agile development, Jira.
  • Experience working on OSS/BSS integration projects.
  • Deep Experience in virtualization and cloud-based technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and address complex technical challenges.
  • Experience with working directly with customers and a strong customer-oriented approach.
  • Experience working with global teams.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
