Reporting to the Director, Product Management, the Investment Product Manager, will receive direction from and work closely with the Director, Product Management and Investment Product Managers develop messaging for investment strategies to internal groups.

What will you do?

• Maintains a deep awareness of Sun Life Global Investments mutual fund products, its key competitors, and industry trends
• Work closely with sub advisors to represent views of the funds and firms with Sun Life Wealth Distribution partners.
• Leverage technical expertise to filter relevant information into credible and impactful messages that help educate and build confidence in the fixed income mutual fund product line up.
• Originate innovative ideas and create content and collateral for advisor materials and communications.
• Support Sun Life Wealth Distribution partners with targeted product and market information to ensure stakeholders are well informed and capable of relaying critical product information (features, benefits, competitive intel) to advisors.
• Provide data support for messaging and content in materials to differentiate Sun Life Global Investments mutual funds and explain drivers of performance (contributors and detractors)
• Responsible for the analysis of competitive performance and positioning of Sun Life Global Investments for their assigned strategies
• Actively participate in quarterly investment manager due diligence calls
• Respond to product and data requests from internal partners including Wealth Distribution
• Ensure reporting accuracy and data integrity by researching and resolving discrepancies
• Create quarterly and or monthly reports for Sun Life mutual funds
• Collaborate with the Director, Product Management and other Investment Product Managers to create content for presentations
• Create and deliver presentations to an internal audience.
• Responsible for annual and semi-annual MRFP commentary
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

• The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Advanced knowledge of capital markets, mutual fund industry, and fixed income investment products
• Experience with Morningstar Direct, Mercer Insight and other industry tools in an asset
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong investment knowledge of capital markets and asset management
• Skill to manage multiple constituent relationships within the organization
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills and product knowledge
• Excellent presentation skills
• Must be a self-starter who is achievement-oriented, motivated and has proven problem solving skills in a client service role coupled with creative solutions
• Good communication skills, particularly in the visual presentation of information
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team
• High level of integrity, professionalism, intellectual curiosity

Preferred skills

• Enrollment in or completion of professional financial industry programs such as CFA, CIM, CSC, CFP is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
