About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst within Wells Fargo Securities in our Toronto office.

Wells Fargo Securities ("WFS") consists of nearly 5,000 team members in 50+ offices across North America, Europe, and Asia, focused on middle-market and large corporations and global institutional investors. WFS delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients\' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.

In this role, you will:
  • Participate in analyzing companies, develop strategies for clients, pulling market and industry research, and completing a trading simulation within Investment Banking Program
  • Review strategies for clients, build detailed financial models, analyze market data, and prepare client presentations related to low-to-medium risk tasks and deliverables
  • Receive direction from a manager and exercise independent judgment while developing understanding of compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal and external customers
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ months of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business/Finance or equivalent with academic distinction
  • Coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Very comfortable and efficient in Excel with experience writing formulas; organizing, analyzing, and formatting data; and recognizing and auditing errors
  • Able to review and interpret financial statements
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • High level of personal motivation
  • Direct client interaction experience, including some experience interacting with senior decision makers
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining excellence and consistency of work
  • Ability to quickly change focus and stay organized
  • Strong ability to interact with senior executives and clients in a confident and professional manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Second year investment banking analyst
