Investigator

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000

Are you are experienced and comfortable with offering recommendations and solutions in crisis situations? Reporting to Manager, Resource Protection Investigations, you will support the Resource Protection mandate to reduce criminal activity and to provide a safe work environment to LCBO staff and customers. Specifically, the position provides Resource Protection solutions to the LCBO. You will also provide internal and external criminal and civil investigative services as well as identify and implement proactive practices to minimize opportunities for criminal activity to occur thereby enhancing the protection of LCBO assets.

About the Role

  • Lead and organize internal and external investigations as directed and assigned by the Director and Manager of Resource Protection and working in consultation with internal and external collaborators.
  • Liaise with Police agencies to exchange information in relation to Criminal trends, intelligence, Investigations and Prosecutions.
  • Determine and recommend the most effective and efficient placement of required security measures through site visits and security audits.
  • Perform surveillance duties as directed and assigned by the Director and Manager of Resource Protection.
  • Prepare, organize, and facilitate Resource Protection awareness seminars.
  • Attend both criminal and civil court cases and hearings on behalf of the LCBO.
About You
  • Requires broad and comprehensive knowledge of Investigation/Surveillance procedures, processes and practices obtained through investigative experience in a Retail environment, Law Enforcement agency or a combination of both.
  • 5 \xe2\x80\x93 7 years relevant experience investigating Organized Crime Groups and series, Internal Investigations, Incident and Intelligence Reports.
  • Experience in conducting Threat Risk Assessments, knowledge, and skill with covert video technology.
  • Solid administrative and organizational skills to manage high volume workload, identify and evaluate trends, prioritizing further actions and investigations.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills to explain and discuss evidence, legislation, policies, and procedures relative to investigations and processes.
  • Experience in providing testimony in court and other hearings.
  • Enhanced writing skills to prepare presentations, maintain and document investigations and update reports.
  • A valid Ontario Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Licence is a required.
