The Inventory Specialist role is the operational engine of the inventory team. You will execute day-to-day tasks that keep our pipeline healthy, partnering closely with the Accessory Buyer and the Hardware Buyer. You will own SKU setups, push stock rebalancing to completion, investigate and collaborate with store managers to fix overdue purchase orders and transfers, coordinate LDU and demo unit deployment to field, and keep our stores informed and supported. Expect a mix of desk work and field visits to build relationships with sales staff and give boots on the ground feedback to Inventory Manager.

What You Will Do


1) Operations and SystemsCreate and maintain SKU setups in RQ for new devices and accessories (attributes, vendor links, pricing and MSRP, cost, categories, barcodes, variants). Execute stock rebalancing at the direction of the Accessory Buyer and Hardware Buyer (transfer orders, shipping labels, confirmations, exceptions). Monitor overdue purchase orders: follow up with stores and District Managers, and reconcile/fix receiving errors. Monitor overdue transfers: prompt sending and receiving locations, verify counts, and follow through to close out overdue RQ transfer statuses. Order and track gift cards and SIM cards to maintain par levels by store. Communicate and monitor RMAs at the direction of the Hardware Buyer and Accessory Buyer (instructions sent to field, ensure completion within given window).

2) Carrier and Vendor CoordinationAt the direction of buyers, coordinate LDUs and demo product with carriers and vendors (communicate to field, monitor status of deployment and execution).

3) Field SupportVisit stores regularly as advised by the Inventory Manager to: Build rapport with sales staff and managers. Audit backrooms and merchandising readiness for inventory moves. Identify issues such as aging stock, DOA returns, or damaged packaging and close the loop with actionable fixes.

4) CommunicationsDraft clear, professional communications for the Inventory team (stock rebalancing, purchase order reminders, RMA instructions, LDU and demo rollouts) and route to the Communications team for deployment. Keep simple one-page standard operating procedures up to date (how to receive a transfer, RMA steps, visual examples of "what good looks like").

5) Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Sales Support and other departments to quickly and effectively resolve inventory and point of sale issues. Provide field feedback from store visits to Buyers on product performance with photos, notes, and quick sell-through observations.

6) Data HygieneEnsure data hygiene in RQ (naming, categories, duplicates, inactive SKUs, costs and MSRP alignment).

What You Will Bring


Must HaveExperience with retail point of sale or inventory systems (RQ familiarity is a strong plus). Strong follow-through and comfort driving task closure with stores and District Managers. Clear written communication that translates operational steps into concise memos. Solid spreadsheet skills in Excel Willingness to travel to stores proactively or at the request of your manager.

Nice to HaveExperience in the wireless industry and familiarity with national carriers. Prior exposure to SKU master data, purchase orders, transfers, RMAs, and vendor coordination. Basic understanding of store operations.

Working ModelHybrid: three days in office, two days remote each week. Field: store visits on a cadence set by the Inventory Manager. Frequency may flex with business needs.

Success MetricsReduction in overdue purchase orders and improved on-time receiving. Reduction in overdue transfers and faster time to closure. Data quality: zero critical SKU errors in pricing, cost, barcode, or category. Store satisfaction: positive feedback on clarity and timeliness of communications and support.
