Job Description

The Inventory Manager is responsible for the daily operations and management of the inventory department within the store. The role is responsible for ensuring the products are correctly received into the store and merchandised on the store floor. The role is responsible for all facets of product management within the store facility. The primary responsibility of the role will be in the effective supervision and management of the inventory department staff.







Reporting to the Store Manager,the Inventory Manager works directly with the store operations team, and store staff. Plays a key role of store operations team working closely with other Department Managers. Works closely with head office support staff including purchasing team members. Works with other Senior Managers with respect to their functional area, including the Finance Manager and Category Managers.

Work Performed



Produce Handling



Ensure that best practices are used when handling product to ensure customer safety and satisfaction Promote timely action to ensure that products are merchandised to the store floor whenever available Create and enforce daily procedures to ensure that work is completed efficiently

System Utilization



Effectively utilize CRS to receive products into store inventory Ensure adherence to the correct utilization of CNF systems Create and develop new systems as needed to ensure that products are handled effectively.

Staff Management



Building strong team dynamic amongst inventory department staff Provide feedback consistently and effectively to staff members Recruit and select team members through application screening, interviews, and reference checks Set expectations for staff and hold them accountable to these expectations Schedule work and shifts appropriately to meet store needs Oversee all HR decisions and administration for inventory department

Qualifications & Skills



3-5 years management experience in the Grocery Industry or Related Industry In depth knowledge of the Natural Foods Industry and its products High care for product integrity and proper product handling Strong organizational skills and Self motivated High initiative and willingness to communicate concerns directly Understanding of proper use of CRS and other CNF systems Demonstrated leadership ability and Management Skills Hiring, training and disciplinary experience * Computer knowledge
