Job Description


The Dufresne Group is currently seeking an Inventory Control Specialist for our Supply Chain Team. This role will be located in Calgary, AB.

As an Inventory Control Specialist you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the inventory through wall-to-wall counts and cycle counts, auditing, and recording inventory information to ensure an accurate inventory record. You will identify opportunities for improved inventory tracking and implement improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.

As the Inventory Control Specialist you will:
  • Conduct semi-annual physical counts of inventory at locations as assigned.
  • Document and reconcile the electronic count.
  • Prepare written reports on outcomes, opportunities, and recommendations.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory issues at profit center level.
  • Update and maintain inventory database.
  • Provide training as required to fix recurring user errors.
As a successful candidate you will have the following:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent skills and experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 1-2 years of accounting or inventory experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, proficiency in Excel and ability to master in-house computer programs quickly.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic math and calculator use.
  • Detail-oriented with good problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver\'s license and own vehicle; and the ability to obtain a lift truck license through company.
  • Ability to stoop, climb, kneel, crouch or crawl when performing physical counts.
  • Ability to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in high places (inventory racks).
  • Passport and ability to travel in North America 60% of the time. Single and multiple days with overnights.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including the ability to work some weekend shifts.
