Conduct routine cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies
Analyze counting results and collaborate with the inventory team to resolve issues
Develop and implement cycle counting procedures to improve inventory accuracy
Maintain accurate records of cycle count findings and update inventory management systems.
Perform manual stock adjustments in the inventory management system based on findings from cycle counts & self identified audits
Assist in training staff on best practices for inventory management and cycle counting
Identify trends in inventory discrepancies and recommend process improvements
Collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to meet customers needs
Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards in the warehouse
Perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Assess, document and process/claim damaged and defective products
Identify, investigate, correct shipping errors to and from branch transfer
Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion
Other duties as required
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately track and manage inventory levels, ensuring records are correct
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain an orderly inventory system
Technical Skills: Familiarity with inventory management software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, WMS)
Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to troubleshoot and resolve inventory issues efficiently
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills to collaborate with team members and other departments
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills for calculations related to stock levels, counts, and adjustments
Teamwork: Willingness to work collaboratively with other departments, such as procurement and sales
Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing inventory needs and processes
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time
Qualifications & Education:
Minimum grade 12 education
required
Minimum two years warehouse experience
an asset
Experience using Microsoft Office an
asset
Knowledge of the plumbing/electrical/heating industry or a background in plumbing/electrical/heating products would be considered an
asset
