JOB DESCRIPTION



Position Title:

Inventory Control Supervisor

Department:

Position Reports to:

Operations Manager



Position Summary:



The Inventory control Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of inventory control within the Warehouse facility. This will include the planning of the warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage, and full Warehouse optimization. This role places a strong emphasis on safety protocols and the integration of technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory control processes. The incumbent will require strong leadership skills, a high level of accuracy, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to optimize inventory processes for efficiency to support the business.



Key Responsibilities:



Inventory Management:



Implement and maintain efficient inventory control procedures. Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to ensure accurate inventory levels Review daily adjustments to identify concerns, validate processes, and complete documents to meet the requirements of each customer and provide internal tracking Monitor and track inventory movements. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory records.

Supervision and Leadership:



Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. Lead a team of inventory control staff, providing coaching, guidance, and development. Schedule and coordinate workload/tasks for the inventory control team. Conduct training sessions and team meetings to ensure team members are well versed in inventory processes and procedures. Evaluate and complete employee performance reviews. Participate in the recruitment process of new team members, and conduct interviews with candidates. Address complaints and resolve problems. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Safety Leadership:



Implement and enforce safety protocols in compliance with the OHSA regulations to ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees. Provide support to the employees and ensure the accurate and timely reporting for injuries and accidents, and partner with Health & Safety to implement effective countermeasures. Provide support and work in collaboration with Health & Safety on the Early and Safe Return to Work Program. Conduct, assist with Health & Safety workplace observations.

Technical Integration:



Evaluate, recommend, and implement advanced inventory management technologies. Collaborate with IT team to ensure seamless integration of inventory systems. Train team members on the use of technology to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Process Improvement:



Identify opportunities to streamline inventory processes and enhance overall efficiency. Work closely with other departments to educate and understand how functions affect inventory. Implement best practices in inventory management. Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly action plans, which improve quality, inventory accuracy, and service.

Reporting:



Develop strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with the company's goals. Generate regular reports on inventory levels, accuracy, and variances. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on inventory data.

Quality Control:



Ensures all Food Safety policies, procedures and HACCP guidelines are followed Ensures timely follow-up with all required corrective and preventative actions as needed Ensure that products are stored and handled in compliance with company standards Implement quality control measures to minimize errors in inventory records. Collaborate with other departments to address and rectify any quality issues.

Required Qualifications:



Proven experience in warehouse inventory control, with at least 3 years experience in a supervisory/management role within a warehouse environment. Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols. Familiarity with inventory management software and technology. Strong analytical, mathematical, and computer skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak clearly and concisely to all levels of personnel in the organization. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to deal with problems as they arise, and proactively anticipate problems before they happen. Critical-thinking skills and the ability to devise plans of action and assess those plans regularly. Strong organizational skills to meet multiple requirements, people, and many moving pieces. Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variations including freezer (-20 F), and able to access all areas of the building without limitations. Leadership skills: keep employees motivated and on-task and demonstrate a positive attitude that sets an example for others. Proficient in working independently while also adept at offering valuable support to the team.

Ability to work in environments with varied noise levels and lighting. Ability to work in varied temperature-controlled environments including freezer (-20 F) Must follow all HACCP procedures Operate equipment as required. Support overtime hours as needed. Commitment to maintaining a high level of accuracy in inventory records.
