Inventor Specialist

Reports directly to the BIM Lead on all matters, regarding the assigned and design issue. The Inventor Specialist shall ensure to meet all schedules in a timely manner. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology Construction Management and Civil Engineering.

Years of Experience

Minimum 2+ Years of CAD Detailing using AutoCAD and Inventor.

Intermediate Level

Detail oriented with the ability to read architectural, mechanical, structural and slab edge drawings; Knowledge in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD & MS Office Tools; Knowledge in making Shop Drawings & Fabrication Packages; Experience working with Autodesk Revit, Rendering, Autodesk Vault, iLogic & iCopy is an asset; Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders; Attention to detail and accuracy is required; and Demonstrate State's Core Values and work in a team environment.

Job Specific Duties

Support BIM Lead and Project Teams in tasks associated with Inventor Parts and 2D Drawings; Utilize Autodesk Inventor to develop Inventor Part/Assembly models and drawings; Utilize AutoCAD to create section/plan details as required; Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of accurate drafting methods, layering X-References, dimensioning, model space/paper space viewports and scaling; Create content for new systems and modifications to existing systems within the library; Update models to reflect site conditions/As-Built Conditions; Work with iLogic tool of Inventor to create Model and Drawings; Create BOM for assemblies built within Inventor for Parts, and export required file formats; Prepare sketches where required i.e., Projected Metal Panel on corner posts, metal cladding, break shape release, fins, features, etc.; Utilize Autodesk Vault for Department File workflow; Assist and support projects in the production of models including creation, management of building information models (BIM) and 2D drawings (if required); and Any other tasks assigned by the BIM Lead.
