Reporting to the Manager, International Marketing, Recruitment and Partnerships, this position supports the International Education management team\'s local recruitment initiatives and strengthens relationships with agents, partner institutions, in-country representatives and other referral resources. This position is responsible for planning, organizing and delivering recruitment events for international students and recruitment partners on and off campus and virtually. This position actively participates in the development and delivery of innovative student recruitment strategies for international students that utilize leading-edge marketing practices that are reflective of a culturally diverse student demographic.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

1. Plans, organizes, coordinates, delivers and attends on and off-campus recruitment events for prospective international students including but not limited to one-on-one prospective student advising, information sessions, college-wide recruitment events, campus tours, high school visits, and agent and partner institution seminars and fairs. Actively follows up after recruitment events to increase conversion from prospective students to applicants.

2. Develops and delivers dynamic multi-media presentations that are targeted to specific audiences and sensitive to the communication needs of culturally diverse populations.

3. Incorporates a strong international student advising component within the recruitment strategy as directed, and presents information efficiently and effectively based on the diversified needs of the target audiences.

4. Provides comprehensive information about programs, admission requirements, application processes, career prospects, college services, pre-departure support and other pertinent information to recruit and support prospective international students.

5. Engages prospective international students and responds to questions in-person, virtually, by phone, email, and on VCC International social media accounts in a timely manner.

6. Provides recruitment support to agents, partners, in-country representatives and other key referral sources, and refers complex questions to the appropriate staff or managers.

7. Provides event updates and analytics, recommends strategies and reports issues to the International Education management team.

8. Develops and maintains a professional network with key referral sources for international students ensuring the College has a strong presence and is positioned to effectively collaborate on broader recruitment initiatives.

9. Assists the Manager, International Marketing, Recruitment and Partnerhips in the development of printed and digital marketing collaterals, documents and videos that maximize recruitment efforts and enhance prospective students\' experiences.

10. Coordinates the ordering, inventory and distribution of promotional materials and resources for international recruitment purposes.

11. Provides input into the development and enhancement of business processes and procedures that improve international student recruitment, enrolment and support.

12. Maintains and updates the agent record management system, and tracks the signing and renewal of agent agreements upon receiving approval from the Manager, International Marketing, Recruitment and Partnerships.

13. Ensures Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPOP} regulations are observed at all times.

14. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Completion of a two year diploma program from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related discipline plus one year of experience in presentation skills of public speaking experience and two years of experience in international student recruitment, international student advising, customer service, sales or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills in English with an entrepreneurial and customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated public speaking skills and experience developing and customizing presentations for both large and small groups.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and exercise sound judgment with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work inclusively and professionally with all levels of the external and internal VCC community.
  • Proven effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to network and build effective relationships with people of diverse levels of education, experience and cultural backgrounds.
  • Proven understanding of recruitment issues and strategies for international learners.
  • Good working knowledge of current and planned programs, courses, admission requirements and pre-requisites, application procedures and timelines for international students
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage several time-sensitive projects at a time.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to research and analyze data to support recommendations for a targeted international recruitment strategy.
  • Demonstrated interest and capacity for continuous learning and ability to use creative and innovative thinking that enhances international student recruitment initiatives.
  • Computer experience and good working knowledge of MS Office, desktop publishing applications and databases.
  • Ability to travel regularly between campuses and to off-site locations in Metro Vancouver. Evening and weekend work may be required occasionally to accommodate recruitment events.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 BC driver\'s license and access to the use of a motor vehicle is essential.
  • Ability to physically lift and carry promotional materials, equipment that weigh between 15-20 pounds.
Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE

PAYGRADE 25 - $2,095.57 - $2,458.55 . Salary under review
