As a Partner Manager, you will play a critical part in creating the best user experiences in the world across all Yahoo properties.
This role requires ongoing cross-functional collaboration working closely with editorial, business development, operations, engineering, marketplace/policy, legal, and product management teams. The key to success is on-boarding partners, optimising performance and maximising the value of our partner relationships. This will involve both new deal generation as well as ongoing partner support to ensure both parties are driving towards growth.
The role's primary focus is to drive incremental revenue and engagement by recommending and implementing optimization ideas based on collaboration with partners, Yahoo product teams, peers, and our internal revenue optimization team.
Key responsibilities
Within the boundaries set by regional and global leadership, this role will have significant autonomy to identify and negotiate content opportunities, as well as provide input into new and innovative partnership models.
The Partnerships Manager, International is responsible for
Driving the content acquisition pipeline for International markets
Identifying complementary content opportunities and strategic partnerships through competitive analysis
Negotiating and closing new content deals
Creating, checking and validating deal structures for partnerships (Traffic, Fixed Fee, Revenue Share)
Drafting and managing contracts together with the legal team
Managing existing content partners including reporting and payments
Providing insight and analysis on the effectiveness of content spend (KPI, performance analysis)
Utilising key editorial data insights to back editorial business decisions
Day-to-day monitoring of the 3rd-party feed quality and potential issues
Drive collaboration with internal operational/product teams to complete technical on-boarding and technical troubleshooting as needed.
Lead optimization efforts to drive incremental revenue for both the partner and for Yahoo.
Manage all partner communications and business reporting rhythms including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly meetings
Requirements
Fluent in English, another European language would be a distinct advantage
Experience with digital content licensing
Commercial understanding of the online and media industry, good existing contacts and network
Proven negotiation capabilities in content and media partnerships
Knowledge of market relevant deal models and KPIs
Strong analytical skills, comfortable with numbers
Excellent and proven organization skills and attention to detail
Must be able to work within a cross-functional team environment
Great influential communication skills
Knowledge of JIRA, Salesforce and SAP is a plus
Strong attention to detail, ability to move fast, and eagerness to exceed goals.
Strong program management and collaboration skills.
Experience managing peer relationships.
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
Comfortable with managing multiple projects with tight deadlines and a sense of urgency
Preferred Skills/Requirements:
Experience in building close "trusted advisor" relationships with external partners.
Experience in setting account management strategies and initiatives.
Online media/internet expertise preferred or knowledge of the internet search or display advertising industry.
Experience & Education:
3+ years of relevant experience, including experience in partner account management or sales in the Internet, Online Media or Enterprise Software industries.
Direct experience in Internet search and online advertising a plus
BA/BS required.
