Fredericton The Department of Finance and Treasury Board (FTB) is seeking an individual to join our Internal Communications unit as an Internal Communications Officer working in Fredericton. FTB supports the Executive Branch of government in its decision-making, and provides strategic direction regarding government\'s human resources, finances, risk, technology and information to client departments and organizations. As a member of the Internal Communications team within the department\'s Corporate Services division, you will be directly involved in the planning, development, and implementation of internal communications deliverables for department-specific and GNB Part 1 audiences. Reporting to the Manager of Employee Experience and Internal Communications, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • researching, writing and formatting written communications for internal publications, programs and initiatives;
  • contributing to strategic communications and planning efforts to enhance the internal communications function within the organization and to further implement GNB\'s internal communications strategy;
  • providing editorial and distribution support for scheduled email communications to GNB Part 1 employees;
  • supporting key employee experience and engagement measures including development of department-specific communications in relation to GNB\'s annual employee experience survey; and
  • playing a key role in the planning of events, including all-staff meetings, employee recognition events and National Public Service Week activities.
The successful candidate will possess strong writing and editing skills, and strategic communications and planning knowledge. Essential Qualifications:
Pay Band 4 A university degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or journalism with a minimum of three years of related work experience in communications and/or public relations, or a two-year college diploma in public relations, communications, marketing, or journalism with a minimum of five years of related experience. If there are no applicants with the above essential qualifications, we may consider applicants with the following qualifications and appoint at a lower classification. Pay Band 3 A university degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or journalism with a minimum of one year of related work experience in communications and/or public relations, or a college diploma in public relations, communications, marketing, or journalism with a minimum of two years of related work experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability. Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate one or more of the following assets:
  • experience working in an internal communications capacity and writing for internal audiences including feature writing and speech writing;
  • familiarity with graphic design and layout applications;
  • experience in event planning and developing and managing intranet content.

Pay Band 3: $48,672 to $68,042 annually, commensurate with experience.
