The University of Windsor invites applications for the position of Head, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for a term of 3 to 5 years, tentatively commencing January 1, 2026.


The candidate must hold a tenured or permanent position in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Windsor and must be qualified to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of Head as stipulated in Schedule A of

Senate Bylaw 5

, including oversight of the area's Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP) and reporting. The candidate must demonstrate a history of leadership, a proven ability to promote excellence in teaching and research, and foster diversity and inclusion in the Department.

Compensation:



The stipend for Department Heads is outlined in Article 31.03 of the

Collective Agreement

with the Windsor University Faculty Association. The Head of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry will receive an annual responsibility stipend of $8,500.

a letter of application, which could include the applicant's previous experience in leadership, research, and teaching, as well as a statement of interest in the role (up to 3 pages); a curriculum vitae; a one-page statement of commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Decolonization and Indigenization; a statement of the applicant's vision for the Department, including teaching, research, and inclusion (up to 2 pages); and two (2) letters of reference sent by email directly to the Chair of the Search Committee by the referees (not by the candidate). At least one (1) of the letters should be from referees external to the University of Windsor.
