Among other tasks, the Insurance and Wealth Management Monitoring Administrative Department is responsible for carrying out strategic and operational internal audit mandates across Canada in life and health insurance and property and casualty insurance.
The person selected will contribute to planning and executing work on complex files in the life and health and/or property and casualty insurance sectors. They will be required to provide assurance on audited processes and advise partners on how to optimize their processes. They will present opinions to audit committees and to partners on operational control and progress toward organizational objectives. The nature of the files requires a good knowledge of the insurance business and the management of related risks.
As an internal auditor on the insurance side, you\'ll need to take a step back to evaluate how processes are managed, assess best practices and identify areas to improve. Your role includes providing the organization with assurance on operational control, verifying measures implemented by Desjardins Group to carry out the strategic plan (including client experience) and thereby helping create added value for the organization.

Main responsibilities
Plan and carry out internal auditing work in accordance with the annual plan
Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization\'s activities to independently examine governance, control and risk management processes. Make recommendations on the quality of activities, as applicable
Present results to the managers responsible for audited activities
Present opinions to audit and management committees and commissions, senior management and managers on operational control and audited entities\' progress toward organizational objectives
Monitor the implementation of action plans developed by managers in response to internal audit reports
Provide opinions on governance, compliance, internal controls, and project and operations management
Help develop the annual plan and new internal auditing tools and approaches
Represent your unit on various committees
Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert
Act as a resource person and coach for colleagues, senior management and decision-making bodies.

Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in a related field
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Relevant experience in risk management with respect to insurance, and/or frontline insurance operations and/or internal audits
Experience in data analysis (an asset)
Relevant experience in internal audit with operations or in the financial services sector (an asset)
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
CPA, CIA or CRMA designation (an asset)
