Assessment accommodation


This process will be used to staff positions in the following three (3) streams:



Stream 1: Internal Auditor Level 2, Operations $84,223 to $105,039 (CT-IAU-02)



Stream 2: Internal Audit Project Leader, Operations $96,525 to $117,277 (CT-IAU-03)



Stream 3: Internal Audit Principal, Operations $108,889 to $132,205 (CT-IAU-04)



This process includes 3 streams in order to create pools for positions at three levels within our organization. You will be asked to indicate which stream(s) you would like to apply for when completing the application. Please note that some merit criteria are specific to each stream(s).

As of January 13, 2025, Canadian citizenship is a requisite for obtaining Secret security clearance at Global Affairs Canada. Permanent residents are welcome to participate in this staffing process. Global Affairs Canada will be following the direction from the Office of the Chief Human Resource Officer on the introduction of a common hybrid work model across the federal public service. This common hybrid work model will consist of work on site at least 3 days each week, or 60% of their regular schedule.

Intent of the process

Anticipatory CT-IAU-02 needs with the language profile Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, anticipatory CT-IAU-03 needs with the language profile Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and anticipatory CT-IAU-04 needs with the language profile Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC to be staffed on a permanent basis. This selection process may be used to establish a pool of fully or partially qualified candidates. This pool could also be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles including bilingual imperative, English essential, or French essential, various security requirements and/or various tenures in various locations within Global Affairs Canada and/or the public service.

ED 1: A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position. Note: Acceptable specialization in a field such as accounting, information technology, social sciences, natural sciences, etc.




NOTE ON ACQUIRED RIGHTS:


Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CT-IAU subgroup on September 28, 2023, who do not possess the minimum qualification prescribed above, are deemed to meet it by virtue of their education, training, and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum qualification standard, whenever this standard is required for staffing positions in the CT-IAU subgroup.

EXPERIENCE FOR THE CT-IAU-02 POSITIONS ONLY:




EX 1: Significantexperience contributing to the planning and coordinating of key activities of an internal or external audit or review.
EX 2: Experience contributing to internal or external audit communication products by preparing documents such as presentation decks, management letters or emails to clients.


EXPERIENCE FOR THE CT-IAU-03 POSITIONS ONLY:



EX 3: Significantexperience in participating in all phases of internal or external audits.
EX 4: Experience in making presentations or providing oral presentations to senior management.


EX 5: Experience in writing internal or external audit observations or sections of internal or external audit reports for senior management.


EXPERIENCE FOR THE CT-IAU-04 POSITIONS ONLY:



EX 6: Significantexperience in managing internal or external audits.
EX 7: Significant experience in providing strategic advice and assurance to senior managementon audit engagement outcomes.

EX 8: Significant experience in writing internal or external audit observations or sections of internal or external audit reports for senior management*.


EX 9: Experience in people management.



Significant experience is defined as approximately three (3) years.

Senior Management is defined as a Director level (EX-01) or above or equivalent in private practice.

A/EDU2: Possession of a recognized Master of Business Administration (MBA), a recognized Master of Public Administration (MPA) or a recognized Master's degree in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.

A/EXP2: Experience in leading an internal or external audit project.
