Position

We are currently hiring an intern looking for a 4-month term position, January \xe2\x80\x93 April 2024.

The Architecture and Technology Innovation team at IGM is made up of dedicated leaders who establish a set of technical patterns and standards to provide a foundation to enable modern, simple, digitized processes in support of changing business needs and strategy over time. The Architects and Analysts in the Architecture and Technology Innovation team collaborate with our Corporate, Digital, Infrastructure, Delivery and Operations teams to understand the foundational technology needs that will support IGM\xe2\x80\x99s business strategy and the delivery of required platforms and solutions. Team members support the Architecture Community of Practice which includes representation from Digital and Corporate Platforms, Integration and Automation, Data Office, Security Architecture, Network Architecture, End User Infrastructure, DevOps and Architecture Governance.

As an intern, you will work with various members of team and will have an opportunity to contribute to the

Community of Practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Architecture Community of Practice to complete analysis and investigation tasks that contribute to improving internal processes
  • Engage with Solution Architects and Delivery Leadership and related stakeholders to complete analysis and investigation tasks that contribute to Architecture Governance
  • Gain both business and technical knowledge, that is required to compete assigned tasks and define/implement solutions that effectivity support technology teams
  • Participate in production and coordination of communication activities within the Architecture Community of Practice and the Delivery Organization
Requirements:
  • Enrolled in a business or computer science program
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to analyze, investigate and solve problems
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Capability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
  • Positive attitude, keeping a constant watch on how to do things better
  • Adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges
  • Knowledge of tools and technologies (e.g. SharePoint, Confluence, Office 365, JIRA)
  • Knowledge of reporting and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is an advantage
  • Knowledge of diagraming and UML tools like Visio, SmartDraw, Draw.io, Luciddraw, etc is an advantage
