Position Summary

True Roots Therapy is seeking a compassionate and motivated Intern Therapist who is currently registered in the Qualifying category with the

College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)

. This internship is ideal for a graduate student completing practicum hours or a recent graduate needing supervised hours to apply for their full (RP) registration.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, families and groups Conduct intake assessments, maintain accurate clinical notes, and develop treatment plans Attend regular individual and/or group supervision sessions as required by CRPO Comply with all relevant ethical, professional, and legal guidelines, including CRPO practice standards Participate in case consultations and ongoing training as part of professional development Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy legislation (e.g., PHIPA) Collaborate with other therapists and administrative staff to support client care

Qualifications

Must be registered in the

Qualifying category

with the

CRPO

Completion of or enrollment in a graduate-level program in psychotherapy, counselling, psychology, or a related mental health field Demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and maintain professional boundaries Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills Liability insurance (proof required) Commitment to anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practices Availability for both in-person and virtual therapy sessions

Assets (Preferred but not required)

Experience with specific client populations (e.g., youth, BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+) Experience working with couples, families and providing group-based therapy
