Job Description


:The Marine Operations Intern assists and gains hands-on experience in the field of marine operations gaining valuable industry experience during their internship. They will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks from vessel operations, vessel and crewing dispatch, training for mariners, safety and regulatory compliance and data analysis. This internship can serve as a steppingstone to a career in marine operations or related fields within the maritime industry.Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 10 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.What you\'ll do

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations, which may include activities related to training scheduling, crewing, safety procedures and vessel compliance.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data related to marine operations such as job orders, invoicing.
  • Help in maintaining and updating records, reports, and documentation including, but limited to, Vessel Familiarization forms, safety protocols, training policies, and compliance records and certificates.
  • Collaborate with various teams, departments and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of marine operations activities.
  • Learn and adhere to safety regulations for Marine as well as industry standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Gain an understanding of unionized environments, including crew and vessel scheduling.
  • Participate in training programs related to marine operations, safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving operational challenges and inefficiencies.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Typically pursuing a degree in Marine Sciences, Maritime Management/Studies, Transportation & Logistics, Marine Navigational Cadetships
  • Proficiency with reading and understanding complex regulatory documents
