About the role

We are offering a 4-month (May to Aug) Maintenance Engineering internship based in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador at our . Relocation to Labrador City is required for this role. Accommodation and relocation assistance to Labrador City and return upon end of internship will be provided.

In this role you will:

• Determine time required for major component replacement of mining assets
• Produce and/or revise technical procedures
• Maintain assets information and specifications in various system
• Team member in failure analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Technical support for the maintenance department

• At least one year completed* in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or any other related field
• Safety mindset
• Eagerness to learn and ready for the challenge ahead
• Flexibility and autonomy
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Valid driving license

• To be eligible for this internship, you must be returning to school after the work term and have the right to work in Canada.

Where will you be working

We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. With a team of over 2,400 employees, IOC is committed to providing value and continuity for our customers, employees, communities and shareholders through our unique mine to port approach, taking advantage of our full integration and wholly owned infrastructure to deliver our high-quality concentrate and pellets to our customers across the globe.

IOC\xe2\x80\x99s operations include a mine with five operational pits, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant located near Labrador City in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We also operate a wholly owned 418 km railway, the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway (QNS&L), that links our Labrador operations to Company-owned port facilities in Sept-Iles. This internship is based in Labrador City.
