POSITION SUMMARY :
Help the Infrastructure Application and Elements team with well documenting technical procedures and with Capacity Planning and operational tasks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  Get familiar with and understand the current Cogeco Application and Elements Infrastructure.

• 
  Get familiar and understand the details of the various applications managed by the Infra Application team, e.g Identity Management, DNS, PAM, DataPower, VPN, Firewalls, etc.
• 
  Learn to deploy projects in GCP and assist with their Capacity planning roadmap.
• 
  Develop or review any other service jointly identified during the co-op term.
• 
  Work in a small and dynamic infra team to gain understanding and knowledge of existing systems and tools.
• 
  Interact with solution architects to gain an understanding of Cogeco best practices for GCP hosted services.
• 
  Work with the SecOps team and Systems Architects to put together Industry standard ITIL framework based guides using JIRA and Confluence.
• 
  Put together Server Patching framework for complex infrastructure to ensure patching automation does not break applications.
• 
  Document solutions and work on knowledge transfer to the Ops team members.
•

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS


ACADEMIC TRAINING

• 
  Currently in 2nd or higher year of a bachelor program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 
  Fundamental knowledge of Agile methodologies
• 
  Working knowledge of Linux

SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

• 
  Strong aptitude for cloud technology with a positive and inquisitive attitude
• 
  Solid understanding of and interest in programming, cloud computing, cloud architecture and data architecture
• 
  Programming experience using Javascript, Node.js, Python or equivalent
• 
  Experience with Google Cloud Platform tools (e.g. CloudRun, CloudStorage, BigQuery, etc.) or similar cloud environment
• 
  Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail
• 
  Self-driven with ability to discover and learn new technical elements with minimum supervision
• 
  Experience using Google suite of tools (Docs, Drive, Sheets) an asset.
• 
  Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, and listening). Ability to communicate in English (both oral and written) is essential.
• 
  General understanding of telecom and ISP industries is an asset.
