We are offering a 4-month (May to August) Engineering internship based in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador at our . Relocation to Labrador City is required for this role. Accommodation and relocation assistance to Labrador City and return upon end of internship will be provided.
The focus of this role is in the Engineering Department supporting Capital Sustaining projects team as Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering co-op student. Our internship will allow you to be involved in research, design, development, testing of aspects of mining, mineral process operations root cause analysis and reliability engineering.

What you'll bring:

• Enrolled in Structural Engineering, or Civil or Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Technology
• Safety mindset
• Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and ready for the challenge ahead
• Flexibility and autonomy
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Valid driving license

Where will you be working?
We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. With a team of over 2,400 employees, IOC is committed to providing value and continuity for our customers, employees, communities and shareholders through our unique mine to port approach, taking advantage of our full integration and wholly owned infrastructure to deliver our high-quality concentrate and pellets to our customers across the globe.
IOC's operations include a mine with five operational pits, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant located near Labrador City in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We also operate a wholly owned 418 km railway, the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway (QNS&L), that links our Labrador operations to Company-owned port facilities in Sept-Iles. This internship is based in Labrador City.
