Intern, DevSecOps Engineer (12-16 Month Term)
Are you a Co-Op student or recent graduate with a passion for technology, an interest in cybersecurity, and a drive to learn? LodgeLink is looking for an Intern, DevSecOps Engineer to join our team for a 12-16 month internship, helping shape the future of workforce travel.
In this role, you'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team that uses technology to solve real business problems. You'll gain hands-on experience in a fast-moving environment, develop your skills in DevOps and security, and contribute to projects that make a real impact.
What You'll Do:
As a DevSecOps Intern, you will:

  • Assist in integrating security practices into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., scanning for vulnerabilities, secrets detection, compliance checks)
  • Learn and help implement secure configurations in cloud environments (especially Azure)
  • Support the automation of security controls, monitoring, and alerting within infrastructure and applications
  • Collaborate with developers and operations teams to identify and mitigate security risks early in the development lifecycle
  • Contribute to security audits, reviews, and documentation effortsWork on introducing tools like SAST, DAST, and Software Composition Analysis (SCA) into pipelinesParticipate in threat modeling and risk assessments for services and infrastructure
  • Learn to monitor system performance and security posture to help ensure platform integrity
  • Explore best practices in infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code (e.g., Azure Policy)
What You Bring:
  • Enrolled in or recently completed a program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Interest in cybersecurity and how it integrates with DevOps practices
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (especially Azure) and their security featuresFamiliarity with Git and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub, Azure DevOps)
  • Exposure to or interest in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation
  • A willingness to learn about tools like:SAST/DAST scanners (e.g., SonarQube, OWASP ZAP)
  • Secrets management (e.g., Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault)
  • Container scanning
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a curiosity-driven mindset
  • Bonus: knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep), policy-as-code, or threat modeling technique
