The opportunity:As a valuable member of the Corporate Development team, the intern will support all aspects of Gildans investment, acquisition and growth strategy. He/she will play an active role in the analysis of merger and acquisition opportunities, capital allocation decisions, developing Gildans corporate strategy, and supporting other strategic initiatives. The role reports into the Manager, Corporate Development.The rolexc2xb7 Support the development of Gildans corporate strategy plan
xc2xb7 Assist in the analysis and execution of M&A transactions
xc2xb7 Support post-acquisition integration
xc2xb7 Support the delivery of various strategic initiatives
xc2xb7 Lead analyses to support large capital investment decisions
xc2xb7 Prepare presentations for Executives and the Board of Directors
xc2xb7 Develop financial tools to evaluate the company's operational performance in strategic areasThe requirementsxc2xb7 Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting (in pursuit or completed; other quantitative backgrounds will be considered, e.g., engineering)
xc2xb7 Previous work experience in investment banking, corporate development, corporate strategy, consulting or transaction advisory services preferred
xc2xb7 Strong financial background
xc2xb7 Ability to synthesize information and complex issues to make informed decisions
xc2xb7 Strong quantitative skills: able to build financial models for the company's operations and acquisition opportunities
xc2xb7 Performance-driven: embraces challenges with determination and perseverance
xc2xb7 Highly flexible with a sense of urgency
xc2xb7 Dependable: respects deadlines
xc2xb7 Superior working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
