The Total Fund Management Department

In Total Fund Management ("TFM"), we are building the capabilities to enable a consistent framework for the long-term management of the firm\'s investment strategy. TFM consists of seven groups: Active Investment Management, Exposure, Leverage, and Liquidity Management, Portfolio Design and Construction, Applied Research & Models, Trading, Total Fund Management and Strategy and Operations.

Portfolio Design & Construction

Portfolio Design & Construction (PD&C) is responsible for recommending the fund\'s risk appetite and allocation at all relevant horizons. The team focuses on recommending strategic positioning and fund investment decisions, and organized into four teams: Strategic Portfolio Design, Portfolio Construction, Tactical Asset Allocation, and Sustainable Design.

We are currently recruiting an Intern Analyst to join the Portfolio Design & Construction - Strategic Portfolio Design team within the Total Fund Management department for a four-month period from January to April 2024.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Apply programming expertise to collection and analysis of key data and modeling inputs
• Collaborate with portfolio managers and quant researchers to develop quantitative models and analytics used in top-down portfolio management
• Support research into new portfolio design data, tools, and methodologies
• Assess and communicate the impact of impending modeling changes and data updates
• Be mentored by experienced team members who will aid you to tap into your expertise and blend it with new skills learned on job

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will be graduating from an undergraduate or graduate program in September 2024 or later and is working towards a degree in finance, mathematics, economics, or related field
• You have programming experience in large-scale projects. Experience in software design and/or Python are considered assets.
• You have an interest in modern portfolio theory, economics, or quantitative portfolio techniques
• You excel at problem solving, attention to detail and ability to think critically and creatively
• You demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with solid verbal and written communication skills
