Total Fund Management Department

Total Fund Management (TFM) articulates CPP Investments\' investment objectives, designs and recommends the Investment Portfolios, and systematically deploys the balancing programs in order to manage Fund\'s exposures, leverage, and liquidity over all horizons. TFM is also responsible for management and execution of the Total Fund\'s financing, collateral and trading needs (excluding credit).

Position Description

We are presently recruiting for an Intern Analyst to join the Business Management team within the Total Fund Management (TFM) department for a four-month period from May to August 2024.

The Intern Analyst will help the Business Management team define, prioritize, and deliver on initiatives in support of TFM Leadership.

As a member of the team, the Intern Analyst will support a wide range of activities, broadly classified into three areas: (1) Business Planning (2) Talent & Culture and (3) Governance.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:
  • Help track and prioritize upcoming TFM objectives, projects, initiatives, and requests and preparing presentations for senior audiences
  • Support execution of annual Business Management objectives, creating value-add enhancements to processes, analysis and reports
  • Help coordinate the design and authoring of key governance documents for a range of audiences with guidance
  • Support key talent & culture initiatives for the department and get involved with activities to share knowledge across TFM
  • Provide support for key investment committees
  • Coordinate key compliance activities within the department and assist in creating new processes to ensure compliance with various governance requirements
  • Facilitate better ad-hoc decision making by gathering data and providing timely, accurate and relevant analysis
  • Maintain and update existing departmental coordination tools (i.e., informational hub)
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications

Who We\'re Looking For
  • You are passionate about business, finance, mathematics, or engineering, and graduating from an undergraduate or graduate degree program in December 2024 or later
  • Self-motivated, organized, flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and concurrent initiatives
  • Highly effective interpersonal and relationship building skills; high degree of professionalism
  • Superior analytical skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and work in a high-performing culture, under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, recognize opportunities to improve processes and exercise good judgment
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Exemplify our Guiding Principles of Integrity, Partnership and High Performance
  • Achievement or pursuit of professional designations such as the CFA are a plus
