SUMMARY -
Intermodal Coordinator PT
Shift: Monday to Friday 20:00-01:00
Reporting to the Manager Intermodal Operations, the Intermodal Coordinator is accountable for monitoring and reporting any reefers issues related to Temperature/ Mechanical / Fuel. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. The Intermodal Coordinator will act as the point of contact between TransX operations and CN. As a key resource within TransX, the Intermodal Coordinator is expected to align with the TransX Core Values for Teamwork, Safety, Innovation, Accountability, Integrity and Respect.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Monitor Alerts and Temperature Discrepancies
Review and investigate when an email alert is received for a reefer
Based on the alert and reefer condition take appropriate action: If the unit is in transit contact CN to request reefer re-fueling or mechanical checks at accessible terminals. If the unit is not in transit but loaded, reaching out to respective city dispatch and/or CallCenter to arrange for service.
Using telematics portal, confirm that the reefer set points matches the order and manifest temperatures in TMW and on customer bills
Report units which are offline or have a code to Call Centre to arrange for repair
Report units of concern to dispatch, with rail ETA's, to arrange pick up and repair as needed
Log all alerts, low fuel or suspected faulty reporting on the Daily Telematics Report
2. Addition Telematics Activities
Review and accordingly flip reefers to cycle/continuous based on requirement
Seasonally tracking ice cream, meat and high priority loads for set temperature, box temperature, alarm codes, and fuel levels
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Education
Minimum 1 year of dispatching experience in road or rail operations
Minimum high school diploma
Post-secondary or logistics certification preferred
Excel medium to advanced level required
Experience
Experience in a fast-paced environment, critical thinking skills, communication skills, time management skills, and the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
Computer proficient in a variety of software applications (TMW, Microsoft Excel, Telecommunications, CN One, etc. would be an asset.
Excellent organizational skills, including time management, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
Excellent communication skills, ability to respond to inquiries quickly and accurately via email and phone
Proficient in critical thinking, problem solving and decision making
Ability to analyze and compile data and information accurately
Proficient in a variety of software applications (TMW, Microsoft Excel, Telematics, CN One, etc.)
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build and foster relationships with internal and external customers, driven to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
Knowledge of Canadian geography and CN's terminals and rail sidings.
Knowledge of CN's network including terminal abilities, terminal challenges, and cutoffs.
