Axis offers a wide variety of services for mining, industrial, and commercial clients. With a client-centered approach, we take pride in providing simple solutions to challenging problems with a focus on the following areas:

Fall protection engineering and design including system design & consulting, hazard assessment, personal equipment inspection Mechanical engineering and design including material handling, ore and product storage bins, machine and equipment design, transfer chutes, discrete element modelling (DEM), lifting/rigging engineering Structural engineering including platform and connection design Inspection services including fall protection inspections and asset integrity
Axis is currently seeking a full-time Intermediate or Senior Structural Engineer.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a specialization structural steel and concrete 8+ years of structural engineering experience Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and project planning skills People oriented with an ability to establish relationships, credibility, and trust Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without Axis sponsorship at time of application

Other Valuable Experience



Registered with APEGS as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) with permission to consult Experience using Autodesk Robot Safety certifications and training Industrial and on-site experience Structural fabrication experience Connection design experience

Responsibilities



Prepare technical specifications and engineering drawings for structural engineering tasks involving construction or rehabilitation of concrete and structural steel Creating other documentation as per project requirements Prepare hand calculations for simple designs and utilize FEA software for more complicated designs Review and seal documents and drawings as required Perform site visits to various client sites for review, inspection, and assessment of existing structures (steel and concrete) Structural fabrication inspection at various shops or client facilities Field checking and verification Work at client mine sites and other client facilities Assist in preparing proposals, establishing client relationships, and client interaction Provide input to engineering and capital cost estimates Holding team members accountable for their actions and individual responsibilities Mentoring junior employees Other tasks as required to meet our clients and operational requirements
