The Role
We are seeking an
Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer
to join our Mechanical, Process, and Piping (MPP) team. In this role, you will lead engineering efforts across a wide variety of industrial, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects. You'll collaborate with a multi-disciplined team to design dependable solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as project Discipline Lead - define scope, manage schedules and budgets, and coordinate cross-discipline project teams.
Develop detailed mechanical equipment specifications and support equipment selection and vendor drawing reviews.
Lead the design, specification, and layout of piping systems for new and existing facilities in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Understanding of pipe stress analysis and corrective measures requirements.
Review and approve piping material specifications and component selections.
Oversee the development of isometric and orthographic drawings, ensuring quality and consistency.
Conduct 3D model reviews.
Participate in site visits for data collection, constructability reviews, and field engineering support.
Support field work including investigations, construction supervision, and commissioning.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship and design oversight to junior team members.
Participate in internal standards development and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
Education & Certification:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with APEGNB.
Experience & Skills:
8+ years in an industrial consulting or design environment.
Strong project coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
Able to work independently and as a leader within a multidisciplinary team.
Previous experience in Pulp & Paper and industrial piping is an asset.
Valid driver's license for site visits.
