INTERMEDIATE/INVENTORY ACCOUNTANT - CALGARY (CAT)

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Intermediate Accountant will be primarily responsible for ensuring inventory transactions and reconciliations are completed in an accurate and timely manner in addition to completing other miscellaneous reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process inventory count sheets and close the inventory subledger module on a monthly basis
  • Enter and post daily inventory transactions and warehouse transfers
  • Facilitate the resolution of inventory related issues or misstatements that arise with collaboration from the purchasing team and warehouse operators
  • Complete, prepare and file the monthly PST, GST and fuel tax returns
  • Prepare several monthly accounting accruals and allocations
  • Reconcile and prepare the monthly entry of employee expenses and company credit cards
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and bring them to the supervisor\'s attention
  • Interact with members of the accounting group and other departments to resolve issues and conduct other ad hoc projects

Experience & Skills:
  • Completion of post-secondary degree in accounting is required
  • Minimum 2 years\' experience in an inventory or intermediate accounting role
  • Knowledge of oil and gas service industry an asset
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities with tight deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to work with large data sets
  • Experience with Microsoft NAV an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills conveyed in a pleasant and professional manner when interacting with employees, management and customers
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Skilled in problem-solving techniques
