  • Provide technical leadership and design expertise for highway and roadway drainage projects, including bridges, culverts, ditching, erosion and scour protection, and storm sewer systems.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis utilizing software such as Visual OTTHYMO, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS.
  • Develop and implement stormwater management strategies to provide water quality and quantity controls to mitigate flooding and ensure environmental protection.
  • Prepare detailed designs, calculations, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, environmental scientists, and other engineers, to achieve project objectives.
  • Regular interaction with clients, agencies, utilities and other project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Provide technical input for delivery of water resource management projects and proposals.
  • Provide project management and coordination support for transportation and water resources projects.

Qualifications:What you will need to succeed
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or applicable technical degree or diploma.
  • 5+ yearsxe2x80x99 relevant experience in transportation and municipal drainage design.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Visual OTTHYMO, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and related computer models.
  • Strong understanding of municipal and provincial drainage design standards including the Highway Design Standards (2024) and other Ministry of Transportation of Ontario guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A self-motivated individual looking for advancement opportunities.

Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and analysis of highway and roadway drainage systems.
  • Proven ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • A commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
  • Experience in flood line mapping, stormwater management, and inflow and infiltration studies would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in Alberta and Manitoba would be considered an asset.
