The Intermediate Technician - RF is an entry-level skilled position. The technician may work under the supervision of more experienced technicians or engineering staff. This role involves performing a variety of tasks related to established systems or new projects of low to medium complexity. Work will be based on written instructions or general guidelines and includes participation in testing electronic units and complex systems.
Key Responsibilities
Under the mentorship of more experienced technicians or technical staff, the intermediate technician will:
Assemble and modify developmental electronic circuits from specific guidelines
Assemble, modify, and verify test benches and/or test equipment
Perform basic RF unit tests including:
Interference measurements
Noise figure
RF gain and power supply
Amplifier compression tests
Oscillation verification
Conduct basic RF measurements using instruments such as:
Vector network analyzers (VNAs)
Spectrum analyzers
Other RF-related tools (e.g., measuring reflection coefficient, return loss, insertion loss, gain, power)
Install test electronic assemblies in test jigs
Conduct thermal and vacuum thermal tests on various RF sub-assemblies
Record test or experiment results accurately
Follow flight test procedures
Adhere to internal procedures and comply with occupational health and safety rules
Perform other related duties as required

College diploma or equivalent in electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, or related field
2 to 5 years of relevant experience
Fluency in spoken and written French (English an asset)
Demonstrated technical knowledge and hands-on experience
Security and Eligibility Requirements
Must obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance
Must pass Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR compliance assessment
